How the Club Works
How to become a member:
- Completing an application and submit your $48 annual membership fee.
- You will receive email updates about upcoming orders but you can feel free to check the website for ordering information
- After downloading an order form, mail, email or fax your application, but membership fees must be paid by mail. Your membership will not be complete until fees are received.
- Within a few days, you will receive confirmation and receipt of application/ membership fees.
Members only:
- An email is sent out (or a phone call) to let you know about upcoming meat orders.
- All meat ordering is done through an online ‘store’ (http://www.trianglembc.ord/orders).
*** This website is used solely for the purpose of compiling orders and giving you an APPROXIMATE cost estimate on your order. All prices vary depending on the exact weight at delivery. ***- You will be asked to “log yourself in”. You will create a personal profile and will have a Login & password to gain access to the TMBC ordering shopping cart.
- Once you have successfully logged in, you will find each month’s producers across the top of the screen and also on the left hand side of the page under the heading ‘CATAGORIES’. Each farm is listed, the kind of product produced and a (#) which indicates the number of products that particular farm is offering that month.
- When you click on a farm, you will be taken to a page that shows the products that they are offering that month. The ‘PRICE’ is listed either by pound for a one pound package or an estimated cost for products that average greater than one pound. (Example: A whole chicken is $4 per pound. We know that the average weight of the chickens is between 3-4 lbs. An ESTIMATED cost of $4 per pound x 3.5 lb bird = $14.00. again the is an ESTIMATE of the cost, all meats packages vary on weight at delivery, so expect your chicken to cost APPROXIMATELY $14, give or take a bit depending on exact weight.
- Once you have visited each farmers page and made your selections, you may ‘GO TO CHECKOUT’. You will see your order as well as an APPROXIMATE balance. In needed, there is a section towards the bottom for “Special Instructions or Order Comments”.
- If everything looks correct, ‘CONTINUE CHECKOUT’
- This page will show a summary of your personal information and your order. If everything is correct, you will be asked to ‘CONFIRM THE ORDER’.
- The final step is to ‘LOG OFF’. Once your order is complete, you will receive an email confirmation of your order and I will receive your order which will then be forwarded on to each producer.
- Check the website for order deadlines and pick-up days and procedures. You will still be paying each producer separately at pick-up.
- You will receive confirmation of your order and will notified of the upcoming pick-up.
- On pick-up day, we meet the farmer in the Brooks Parking lot (at the corner of Hillsborough Street & Brooks Avenue – adjacent to the State Employee’s Credit Union - view map) usually between 4:00 and 6:00pm.
- If you know that you are unable to make the pick up date, call or email lisa@trianglembc.com to make payment and pick-up arrangements. (I will usually ask for a check made out to the farmer PRIOR to pick-up and will hold your order in a freezer until you are able to pick your order up).
- IF YOU HAVE PLACED AN ORDER AND HAVE NOT MADE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS IN ADVANCE, YOUR ORDER WILL BE CANCELLED.
- Two cancellations will result in your termination from the Triangle Meat Buying Club.
